Seattle Beagle Rescue

Seattle Beagle Rescue is a registered 501 (c) (3) Charity. We rescue dogs from shelters and homes that can no longer care for them as well as from other rescue organizations that may be overwhelmed with Beagles needing a new home. We have partnered with California high kill shelters to safely bring pups to the Northwest and many dogs unfortunately come to us as their owners move to assisted living situations or pass away. We provide assistance and/or a foster home until each Beagle can be placed in a loving permanent home. In some cases, we have even been able to provide hospice care for Beagles in need. In 2019 we were able to help find over 60 Beagles a permanent home.

Back in 2017, we started a new adventure of helping to rescue dogs from South Korea that were destined for the meat trade, they were strays on the streets, their owner gave them up and even laboratory testing Beagles that were released. One of our rescues was from a puppy mill where dogs were bred to produce laboratory puppies but then, when the puppy mill owner was diagnosed with a terminal illness, these Beagles were left to be sold to the meat trade for human food.  We currently work with Beagle Rescue Network in South Korea. This group of dedicated volunteers take in Beagles from high kill shelters and provide medical care and socializing before sending to us to find forever homes.

 

In 2019, we were fortunate to be involved in our first US laboratory release of 3 Beagles, 2 of which made the trip to Washington and one that was lovingly adopted before the transport departed.

We also aspire to educate others about Beagles and help provide our area Beagle fans a sense of community through our various events and volunteer opportunities.
